Description
Sunrise in Saint Augustine Florida. Built by the Spanish in the 17th Century, Spanish solders in the Castillo de San Marcos defended the city from pirates, privateers and other enemies. Groundbreaking for the Castillo de San Marcos was October 2nd in 1672. At 350 years old, the structure is the oldest masonry fort in North America. The Fort has changed hands many times as has Florida. Now it is a National Park.
